My neighbor friend's father died about a year and a half ago. He wanted to be cremated, so we built him a box to transport his ashes to where they will be spread. The family ceremony is coming up soon, so I thought I should take a few snaps.

Ken, my neighbor friend's dad, worked on the Lunar Excursion Module for the Apollo Program, so they had a line drawing of it laser-etched into the top, along with a Masonic symbol.

After the box has fulfilled its transport duties, it will serve as a box for their family bible, and such.

The black stripe is made of separate strips of ebonized wood, inlayed into the surface.

Here's the "set" in my kitchen. Boy, I miss having a dedicated studio.
